Synagogue of Caesarea : A Celebration of the Memories of Terror Victims.
On the first of Kislev 5762, Rabbi Dov Kaplan organized at his synagogue a ceremony in honor of all victims of terror from all over the world.
The community of Ceasarea chose this date because it is the beginning of the month in which Hannukah takes place - the month of lights. "Hakhel" ceremony at the Western wall
"Hakhel" ceremony : during the First and Second Temple Periods in Jerusalem, every 7th year, at the end of the Shmita year, the Kings of Israel would read the Torah to thousands of people.
They would come to Jerusalem from all over Israel to see this spectacular show.
This year, following the tradition of the Jewish people (for the first time in the modern State of Israel) the President of Israel, Moshe Katsav, is reading the Torah from the Kotel in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. (4mn) Language: Hebrew
